Thousands Experiencing Power in South-East Queensland and Victoria Following Intense Storms
Around 25,000 residences in south-east Queensland woke up lacking electricity on Monday's dawn after intense storm systems impacted the state, generating strong winds reaching 109km/h.
Large Frozen Precipitation and Broad Impact
Residents observed substantial frozen pellets reaching sizes of 7cm in some areas. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that various areas across Queensland had been hit with large hailstones.

Response teams were working to restore power throughout the impacted areas, with approximately seventy teams activated to address the extensive power failures.
Southern State's Weather Woes
Meanwhile, approximately one thousand energy customers in the southern state also faced power outages after the metropolitan area saw its wettest day in a year and a half.
State Emergency Services responded to nearly 600 requests for assistance across the region, primarily for structural issues but also for collapsed vegetation and flooding.

At one point on yesterday, more than twenty-eight thousand power users in the state were lacking electricity.

Humid circumstances were predicted to continue along large portions of Queensland's east this coming days as a weather pattern continued to attract humidity against the shoreline.
Tuesday was expected to become the most rainy day, with continued thunderstorm potential expected across different parts of both areas.

Public health experts cautioned that there was an increased chance of weather-related respiratory issues across the countryside regions, particularly given the ongoing climate situation.
This alert comes after past events where comparable situations led to substantial respiratory problems in the state.
