The children's author David Walliams dropped by book publisher.

David Walliams

Prolific young adult author and TV personality David Walliams is no longer with his UK book publisher, as confirmed by the firm.

A representative for the publisher said: "Following a thorough review, and with the guidance of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the conclusion was made after an review of reports of inappropriate behaviour directed at young women.

The firm has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, stating: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."

An Illustrious Literary Career

Walliams ranks among Britain's most prolific writers for young readers, having sold over six tens of millions of copies worldwide in five dozen languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins back in 2008.

A number of his titles, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into small-screen adaptations.

He has published more than 40 books in total, encompassing a festive story titled *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins last autumn.

From Screen to Page

His career breakthrough occurred on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.

This development follows the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss this past October.
